Fault vs. Responsibility: A Reflection

| May 24, 2018

It’s not our fault that life can be challenging at times.

It is our responsibility to rise to life’s challenges.

It’s not our fault that we might become sick or injured.

It is our responsibility to plan for temporary or permanent disability, though it is something that we did not bring upon ourselves.

It’s not our fault that one day we will die.

It is our responsibility to plan for when we die, so that there is good, positive continuity in the lives of our loved ones.

It is not our fault that economic cycles exist and that these cycles might significantly affect our job or our business.

It is our responsibility to plan for fluctuating economic cycles.

It is not our fault that living our dreams is no small task.

It is our responsibility to make our dreams come true.

It is not our fault that markets, stocks, bonds and investment vehicles may fluctuate in value.

It is our responsibility to understand that these fluctuations can and do happen and to plan for them.

It is not our fault that our loved ones might fall ill.

It is our responsibility to help care for our loved ones if they do fall ill.

It is not our fault that as we age we may need assistance to carry out certain tasks, when in the past we did not.

It is our responsibility to plan for older age, so that we might have assistance should we need it.

It is not our fault that societies, including the one we live in, often do a poor job of planning for the future and living within their means.

It is our responsibility to plan for our future and live within our means.

It is not our fault that building great things takes time and commitment.

It is our responsibility to make the commitment and take the time to make great things happen.

Make great things happen!
